A complete Merger.

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Zoqy.netToday was the last day for all of my websites and blogs that I ran on the domain www.the-world-in-focus.com. The account was due to be billed on the 1st Feb, so today seemed a good time to close it down. I had redirected the hacked blogs to static websites and kept most of  my 10000 daily hits that the websites/blogs usually get, and fingers crossed some of that traffic will now end up here on www.zoqy.net. I’ve kept the domain name and redirected it here, and I’m moving over static website content a little at a time.
If you arrived here because you are a link exchange partner with www.the-world-in-focus.com, then I would be happy to exchange links here, or I can also offer a 3 way link exchange with another blog of mine (http://zoqy.blogspot.com). You can contact me HERE.
I still have a lot of work to do to get this blog to the same level of my previous blogs and websites but the future seems bright.

Wordpress Automatic update.

Monday, January 11th, 2010

I’ve not needed to update my wordpress since the first install on this new hosting account but thought it a good  time to upgrade to 2.9.1 now that the early bugs have been ironed out. One of the best parts I’ve found with the last major update of wordpress was the fact that you can auto update the wordpress files and also plug-ins. So to start the upgrade I clicked on the auto update button, all seemed fine until it came up with an install failed message and then when I tried to add a new post I also got an error message. I then downloaded the update from www.wordpress.org and done a manual upgrade and now every works fine. Thinking that it was just a minor glitch, I then tried to auto update a plug-in and with the same negative result. I wonder if this is just me? or a FTP error from inside wordpress. Next time I need to update will answer this question and fingers crossed it will be fixed.

I’ve been hacked :(…

Monday, January 11th, 2010

This morning I booted up this blog only to find that it had been hacked and was it redirecting to a page boasting of the fact. It would seem some scum bag hacked the database and tech support at my hosting supplier managed to restore a back-up but it means that I’ve lost just over a weeks worth of blog posts, some of which have taken me a good while to create. Looks like I will have to get in the habit of backing up the blog and database every 24/48 hours from now on.
